Coloriage is a solo-run grading studio by Luke Linssen.
“With a background in photography and cinematography, I've learned to treat color as something you feel, not just something you see.
To me, grading is like painting: starting broad, shaping the overall tone, then carefully refining each scene and shot.”
Remote workflow:
Remote grading shouldn’t feel distant. I've shaped the workflow to feel as close as sitting together with space to pause, reflect and get the look just right.
Sessions run through Colorfront, connecting us in real-time with an uncompressed, low-latency stream so collaboration is intuitive and the creative flow stays intact.
Once the look is established, the process continues through frame.io keeping feedback precise and focussed. The workflow adapts to what works best for your project.
Show Lut Building:
When it fits the project, I like to collaborate during pre-production by building a shooting LUT. It acts as a shared reference, helping the team sense where the image is heading while leaving room for the look to evolve.
The process usually starts with test footage in different scenarios. From there, we shape a custom LUT that works across different setups and lighting conditions, supporting the cinematography without imposing limitations.
The aim is continuity, creating a look that carries through production and into the grading stage, aligning everyone around the same visual intent.
